Maggie used a Fuzzy Ticket and brought in a book to share with the class.  We enjoyed hearing the book about birds!

Our class won the Golden Boot Award for grades 1-2 this week!  This means that they chose our class to win this week since we had our cubbies all picked up with a minimum of things on the floor!  ☺

Food Drive

KHEP Council (the 4th graders of Eagle Point) is sponsoring a Food Drive.  2nd grade has been asked to bring in juice boxes or pouches to donate.  All donations will be used to help supply Blessings in a Backpack and should come to school by March 21.  Thanks!

Mystery Doug

Yesterday, Mystery Doug showed us a video of how many magic tricks use a distraction to help "trick" the eye or person watching.  We enjoyed doing the extension activity where we made gold pointers.  We practiced the trick using the story of how we asked a leprechaun to help find the magic gold. Maybe your second grader came home last night wanting to practice their new magic trick!

This was the experiment the class did yesterday in small groups for Writer's Workshop.  We asked the question:  Will the cotton ball or the ping pong ball go farther using the catapult?
