Goodbye 2nd Grade!

Today, we watched a slide show of all the pictures I had taken of them throughout the year. (all taken from former blog posts here)  They loved remembering all the fun times we had!  We packed up our desks and had a magic show assembly in the afternoon.  Now we're excited to move on to be 3rd graders!  ☺

Measuring Activity

STEM Activity (Designing a House)

Today, we read aloud the story of No Lie, Pigs (and Their Houses) Can Fly!: The Story of the Three Little Pigs.  Afterwards, we planned and designed a house for the three little pigs using straws and marshmallows in small groups.

Each group had great ideas, but like many designs planners can make, sometimes they wound up not working at first.  At first, it was a challenge to start again and try something else.

This group named this house "Pig Power".  (😂😄😂)

Be Proud, Read Aloud

We enjoyed listening to Maggie read us the story Pig the Pug this past week!  She even brought in her stuffed pug dog "Peanut Butter".  😂

Norski Graduates

This morning, some of DeForest's graduates that attended Eagle Point came back to visit.  We went out to congratulate them and wish them well on their next journey after high school.  It was great to see some old friends now all grown up!

A New Book

We would like to give the Fitterer family a big thank you for our latest book!  Everyone was really excited to get a copy of a new book from one of our favorite series, Calendar Mysteries.  (We are currently loving many of the A to Z Mysteries books.)  Thank you again for our new book!

Publishing Our Poems

Today, the class started using Google Slides to type in a favorite poem that each person wrote during Writer's Workshop time.  We will continue logging in, getting into the Google program, and finding our Slides Presentation on the Chromebooks for the next several days in order to each publish a poem.  After everyone has done this, we will put together the poems into a book for everyone to keep.
